Find the problems before install day.
Most install-day headaches start weeks earlier: an opening that's half an inch short, an outlet in the wrong spot, a hood duct that doesn't line up. A Pre-Install Workup catches them while they're still cheap to fix, and saves everyone time, money and a second trip.
Book a WorkupWhy it matters now
Appliances aren't plug-and-play anymore. Panel-ready doors, integrated columns, in-hood blowers, dedicated circuits and tight factory tolerances mean the opening, power, gas and venting all have to be right before the truck shows up. Every model has its own spec sheet, and they change from year to year. A Workup checks your space against the specs for your exact models, so install day is just install day.
What I check
- Openings vs. spec sheets. Width, height and depth measured against the install specs for your exact models, including panel overlays and door swing.
- Power. Dedicated circuits, outlet location and voltage for each appliance.
- Gas. Shutoff and connection location, and whether the line suits the appliance.
- Water and drain. Supply lines and shutoffs for ice makers, dispensers and dishwashers, plus drain routing.
- Hood venting. Duct size, route, offsets and clearances to the ceiling and cooking surface.
- Panels and hardware. Panel and handle specs your cabinet maker can build to, so integrated units line up.
- Delivery path. Doors, stairs and turns from the truck to the kitchen, so the units actually make it in.
What you get
- A written report with photos and measurements for every appliance in the package.
- A clear fix list: what needs to change, who should handle it (electrician, plumber, cabinet maker) and by when.
- Your choice on the fixes. Have your own trades handle them, or I can do the modification work myself. Openings, cleats, platforms and duct offsets are quoted flat-rate, just like the install.
- A flat-rate install quote based on what I found, so there are no surprises on install day.
Price
One site visit and a written report for the whole appliance package. Priced by the size of the package, and credited toward your install when Install KC does the work.

When to get one
Questions
- How long does it take?
- Most visits take about an hour. You'll have the report within a couple of days.
- Do I have to use Install KC for the install?
- No. The report is yours to share with anyone. If I do the install, the Workup fee comes off the price.
- What if we'd rather not make the changes ourselves?
- That's fine. I can do the modification work as part of the job. It's quoted separately, at a flat rate, before anything starts.
- What should I have ready?
- The model numbers for your appliances, if you have them, and access to the kitchen. See preparing for your install for the rest.
